The Israeli occupation authorities demolish 10 Palestinian houses
in Jerusalem and surroundings

Pretext of violation: Building without license.
Details of violation:
On 3.4.2003, at 8 AM, the Israeli occupation authorities demolished ten Palestinian houses and structures, seven of them in Sur Baher south east of Jerusalem, the eighth in Al- Salam quarters in the village of Anata north of the city, the ninth in ther village of Qatanah to the north west of the city and the tenth in the village of AL- Zua’im to the east of the city.
The total area of the destroyed houses and structures exceeds 1700 square meters. The demolition processes were carried out by six bulldozers and cranes protected by dozens of soldiers and military personnel.
When the force reached the town of Sur Baherit was divided into two groups: the first of which headed to Wadi Al-Humus where they destroyed five houses in three buildings, the second headed to Al- Muntar quarters where they destroyed two houses and one store for building material and a 400 long meters wall.
LRC human rights observer said that other Israeli demolition forces headed to the villages of Al- Zua’im, Anata and Qatanah to destroy three houses over there.
