Tuesday, 2 July 2019, Director of the Imperial Hotel Mohammad Dajani received an Israeli order to evict the hotel within a month and hand the keys to Ateret Cohanim settlers group, The eviction order comes after Israel’s Supreme Court approved  the sale of Imperial Hotel in addition to Petra Hotel to Israeli settlers.

Reportedly, Dajani has to pay 10 million shekels for Israeli settlers, for using the hotel since 2005 (the date of the case), as he told LRC reporter:

Mohammad Dajani also told LRC reporter:

“ I will object on the order, this is one of my rights according to 1949 law, which also prohibits the eviction, I also call for Jordanian , Palestinian and Greek bodies to immediately intervene to protect these historical assets from loss.

Once I received the military order I headed to Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, Who promised me to follow up the case, as he believes there was manipulation in the selling.

Noteworthy Ateret Cohanim settlers group won a case filed in 2005 , on buying Al- Petra and Imperial hotels , after revealing a selling deal between Ateret Cohanim settlers group and representatives from the Greek church , The assets include the Petra and Imperial hotels overlooking the Omar Bin al-Khattab Square in the Old city of occupied Jerusalem .
