Violation: Cut and vandalize irrigation network.

Location: Farkha village/ west Salfit.

Date: June, 17th 2025.

Perpetrators: Settlers of Shoval Farm.

Affected party: Farmer Moath Bassam Abd Al Aziz Reziq Allah.

Details:

Tuesday morning, June,16th 2025, a group of settlers raided Wad Al Matoui, west Salfit and attacked a piece of land with total area of 1.5 dunams, as vandalizing irrigation network that was used to providing water to a piece of land and planted with Molokhia, belongs to farmer Moath Bassam Abd Al Aziz Reziq Allah, who supports a family consisting of 3 members (residents of Al Farkha village).

It’s worth mentioning that settlers deliberate by using sharp tools vandalize and completely damage to irrigation network with 1000 length with quarter diameter, causing damage in mist irrigation network, which reflects to all the crops.

The affected farmer to the LRC researcher told as follows:

‘’ The agriculture considered my only source of income to my family and my father’s family, as since 2007 and until the date of today we leased lands in Al Matoui area and we have 6 dunams that we were leased and checked up daily.’’

He added:

‘’ Over past months, since the rehabilitating of the road between Wadi Al Matoui and ‘’Shoval Farm’’ settlement on the lands of Farkha village by settlers , we are suffering from settlers’ practices noted that the road just 10 meters away from the land that we plant it. On Tuesday morning, settlers came towards the lands and completely cut the irrigation network that existing in the land, noted the affected land produce in each season no less than 6 tons Molokhia, in addition to the irrigation network costs about 4 thousand shekels.’’

The lands of the village Farkha are suffering from settlement expansion due to the presence of a pastoral outpost established on the village’s land. Over past three years until today, settlers have deliberately taken the control of vast areas by randomly carving out roads along the edges of the mountain where the outpost is located. Moreover, settlers forcibly expelled a Bedouin family from Wad Al Moutoi area under the threat, which reflects negatively to the agricultural reality that the area is known for.
