It’s worth mentioning that the field researcher documented the occupation attack by settling fire in the same location in 2021, causing to damaging dozens of olive trees.

Al Abed village witnessed repeated attacks by settlers, as the Israeli occupation take control over the lands by establishing a new colonial outpost on the outskirts of the village, which contributed to increasing the attacks and sabotaging works.

 Dahr al-Abed:

A small village located west of Jenin city, about 26 km away. It is bordered by Zibda to the east and north, Akkaba to the west, and Qaffin to the south. The total area of the village is approximately 660 dunams, with about 80 dunams designated for construction. All village lands are located in Area C.

It is worth noting that the Land Research Center has recorded more than 350 colonist attacks on agricultural facilities in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since the beginning of 2024 until the date of this report. The colonists have targeted more than 57 agricultural rooms, either by burning, vandalizing, destroying contents, or stealing them.

The colonists' targeting of agricultural rooms built by Palestinian farmers on their land to store agricultural tools used for land care, and for resting after labor-intensive activities (plowing, watering crops, weeding, spraying with pesticides, etc.), aims to deter Palestinian farmers from their land and instill fear that accessing their land endangers their lives, thus depriving them of safely reaching their land.

Attacking Trees…. A form of Israeli violations of Palestinian Environment:

The frequency of attacks by settlers and the military on Palestinian trees has been increasing. According to the field research team at the Land Research Center, since the beginning of 2024 until October 31, 2024, the occupation has targeted more than 57,323 trees and saplings, marking the highest number in the past 10 years. Of these trees, 90% have been completely destroyed, which signals a real environmental disaster.

The loss of trees, whether by cutting, burning, or poisoning, results in a reduction in the number of trees, leading to a decrease in vegetation cover. This, in turn, reduces the amount of oxygen produced in the region and increases the concentration of carbon dioxide. Moreover, the destruction of trees leaves animals without shelter or food, threatening the extinction of certain species due to the destruction of their natural habitat, which harms biodiversity.

About 236,660 trees have been vandalizing by the occupation forces and settlers over past ten years (first quarter of 2025) according to the field research team at LRC.
