The Affected farmer told the Land Research Center's researcher as follows:
‘’I own several agricultural pieces in Wadi Qana nearby ‘’Ein Al Bassa’’, as I rely on the agriculture there. We suffer from the occupation’s practices on agricultural works under the pretext that the area is natural reserve as Oslo Accord, according this classification the occupation fights any agriculture in Wadi Qana under the pretext to changing the features of the area. As I am one of the farmers, sating up fence around my land to protect the lands from wild pigs that destroyed my crops and agriculture some saplings in it, but I was surprised that putting Fence is prohibited, as our work in agriculture is being dangerous from the occupation and settlers’ assaults.’’
Wadi Qana is surrounded by Israeli settlements and Annexation and Expansion wall:
Wadi Qana is surrounded by 7 settlements :(Karni Shmoron, Junat Shomron, Nov Uranium). (Noufim, Yakir) from the south, (Emmane’l) from the east, which throws its sewers into Al Wadi, as Ein Al Jora and Ein Al Fawwar were polluted, as sewages reached on Al Bassa ponds and Al Jamal pond.( Ma’le Shomron) from the west. As the existence of such settlements seem to be extreme dangerous in Wadi Qanas’ lands decreased and life declines in it as its residents leave it. This is a clear systematic approach to Palestinian leaving from their lands.
In addition to Colonial outposts, which polluted on agricultural land particularly sewages, resulting clear effects including: destruction and effects in the environment, crops and targeting Livestock.
During the past few years, the area of planted lands has shrunk from 10,000 dunums to 5500 dunums as a result of colonial expansion and access restrictions imposed on farmers. Construction of eight colonies in Wad Qana devoured most of its agricultural lands, while neighboring plots became unsuitable for agriculture as a result of colonists’ assaults. Consequently, Palestinian farmers were deprived from their right to freely exploit their lands.
The occupation has confiscated an area of (7590) dunams, including 4024 dunams for Israeli settlements located on (55,5506) Wadi Qana lands, (1864) for Bypass roads, with following numbers (55,5506).
