Perpetrator: The Israeli occupation.

Affected party: The farmer Ibrahim Mohammad Ibrahim Al Tamimi.

Details:

The so- called ‘’ Yaki Doulf’’ who serves as the head of what is known as the Israeli civil administration in West Bank issued a written military order demanding the evacuation and removal about 40 fruitful and centuries old olive trees planted on a plot with total area of 1.8 dunams from Al Nabi Saleh village with natural block (Deir Netham- Al Hajar Al Asoud) no 2.

‘’ According to a new military order titled’’ instruction regarding adoption of security purposes        (19/25/ urgent and immediate) and attached map, the occupation’s aim of removal is for military purposes, they set 24 hours for objection to this military order. ‘’

The affected land belongs to farmer Ibrahim Mohammad Ibrahim Al Tamimi, who works as a teacher and supports a family consisting of 4 members, including 1 female and two children stated as follows:

The affected farmer stated as follows:

‘’ The affected land is directly adjacent to my home and is considered a garden to my home in Al Nabi Saleh village, I have been present there since I my childhood, its completely planted with olive trees, which we rely on it each year to providing us no less than 180 kilos of olive trees, I am astonished about the Israeli’s practices against farmers in different ways. ‘’

It’s worth noting that, according to field observation, the affected land and trees located in an area overlooking bypass road no. 465, as well as Al Nabi Salih checkpoint and the settlement of Halmesh, it appears that the occupation is targeting this land according what previously mentioned.

It’s worth mentioning that Al Nabi Salih village like many Palestinian towns and villages, relies heavily on agriculture and livestock. However, the occupation deliberated o sat up checkpoint in the entrance of the village, contributed to dividing it from it’s Palestinian surroundings. This checkpoint is considered one of several checkpoints in West Bank, of which contribute to restricting the Palestinians’ movements.

The field researcher has documented previously, over past years, the occupation has cut and ravaged olive trees in the village, claiming on the pretext of ‘’ State Lands’’.

 An-Nabi Salih village:

25 km north west Ramallah, An-Nabi Salih is surrounded by Kafr Ein (north), Bani Zaid Al-Gharbiya (west) , Deir As-Sudabn and Umm Safa (east) and Deir Nitham (south) – Halmish settlement.

An-Nabi Salih has a total population of 522 people , according to 2017 census.

An-Nabi Salih has a total area of 2,340 dunums, of which 203 dunums are a built up area for the village.

The occupation confiscated 299 dunums for the following purposes:

  • Bypass road 465 eat up 162 dunums.

Oslo convention divided the town lands as the following:

It’s worth noting that this action was preceded by 8 other orders targeted lands planted with olive trees, either (an order regarding the seizure of land – urgent and immediate) or (an order concerning security instructions, urgent and immediate).
